Local businesses who want to expand their markets overseas will have a chance to connect with key financial contacts when Bellevue hosts the Pacific Rim Bankers Program reception at City Hall on Tuesday, Aug. 12.

At least 40 bankers from China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Poland, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey and the United States will gather in the first-floor concourse at 6:30 p.m. for the event.

Each summer, participants in the two-week program learn how to build an international network of business contacts. They also can gain the multicultural understanding necessary to work with those contacts.

Bellevue is co-hosting the reception with the University of Washington and the Greater Seattle Chinese Chamber of Commerce. Sponsors include: Regal Financial Bank, Washington Square, Marcus & Millichap, Seven Hills, the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce, Pochana Restaurant, Watercress Asian Bistro, the Northwest Minority Business Council, the Washington State China Relations Council, the Trade Development Alliance of Greater Seattle and the Global Federation of Chinese Business Women.

Registration costs $55. For more information or to register, people can contact Elaine Chan at Elaine_Chan1@ml.com.
