Hyatt Regency Bellevue celebrates 20 years by turning back calendar

The Hyatt Regency Bellevue is celebrating 20 years of business in Bellevue by turning back the calendar to 1989 and offering rooms at $55 a night.

The Hyatt celebrated it’s opening in 1989 with a black-tie, invite-only grand opening event, which was held in conjunction with a fundraiser for the Pacific Northwest Ballet. A $20 million renovation in 2006 updated guest rooms and public spaces décor, including the creation of a new central lobby adjoining the Wintergarden atrium; a welcoming, all-glass porte-cochere; and sky-bridge access to the Lincoln Square complex.

In 2007, Hyatt Regency Bellevue broke ground on a $185 million expansion, set for completion in July of this year. The expanded hotel will have a total of 733 rooms and 60,000 square feet of meeting and event space including an 18,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom, the largest hotel ballroom on the Eastside and third largest in Washington state. A second 14,000-square-foot Ballroom and a 120-seat auditorium also will be housed within the new tower.

The promotion of $55 rooms runs March 12 through April 19 and is offered on a first serve basis, Thursday through Sunday.

Guests must reference the “20 Year Anniversary Rate,” prepay for their stay and make their reservations between March 10 and March 27, 2009 to qualify for the rate. Reservations may be made online at www.bellevue.hyatt.com or by calling Hyatt Hotels & Resorts at 1-800-223-1234.
