City University moving headquarters from Bellevue to Seattle

City University of Seattle announced this week it is moving its headquarters from Bellevue to Seattle.

City University of Seattle announced this week it is moving its headquarters from Bellevue to Seattle.

The new headquarters will be located at 521 Wall Street, at the corner of Sixth and Wall in Seattle, in the former headquarters of Group Health and a previous home of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.

City University has been based in Bellevue for 30 years, City University spokeswoman Tarsi Hall said. Officials preferred the Belltown location because it was more accessible for students. Hall said classes will still be offered at the Bellevue location at 11900 NE First St.

City University leased two of the Seattle building’s three floors. The bottom floor will be focused on students with classrooms and study areas, and the second floor will be furnished with staff offices.

The move is expected to occur in January 2013. Classes will continue at City University’s locations throughout the state, and in its international markets, including Australia, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic and Greece.
