Red Mango said Bill and Victoria Plummer have been awarded franchise ownership of the corporate-owned Red Mango at Bellevue Square.

The Plummers, who have been Red Mango customers since the store originally opened in 2007, heard the store was available and decided their background in the hospitality industry would serve them well in a customer-oriented business like Red Mango.

“My wife and I worked in hotel hospitality and wanted to take that experience to a new level with Red Mango,” said Bill Plummer. “We’d been keeping an eye on the Red Mango business for awhile and were already loyal customers. We love the yogurt, approach and design, but especially appreciate the health aspects of the product.”

Red Mango currently has five locations in the Seattle area. Plummer and his wife plan to open a second location in the coming years.

“My swirl still needs some work, but it’s definitely getting there,” said Plummer about the art of serving Red Mango’s popular frozen yogurt. “Our staff has been very helpful in educating me on the perfect swirl. We were lucky to have a wonderful staff already in place, including an experienced manager.”

Plummer said the couple is using the opportunity to learn the business.

“We already have so many wonderful, loyal guests, and we look forward to bringing the Red Mango experience to all of Seattle,” Plummer said.

Red Mango opened its first store in Los Angeles in July 2007 and has grown to almost 60 locations across 14 states. The company was recently honored with Nation’s Restaurant News’ 2009 “Hot Concepts!” award.
