Bellevue-based Point Inside announces upgrades to airport maps

A collection of indoor airport maps are now available through any travel-focused app

Bellevue-based Point Inside, the leading provider of digital mapping and indoor location-based solutions for major airports across the United States, announced upgrades to its collection of indoor airport maps. With the world’s largest catalog of indoor airport maps, all 171 maps have been updated, redesigned and are now ready to integrate into any website or mobile app via the Point Inside Software Developer’s Kit. TripCase, a travel itinerary management app, is already leveraging Point Inside’s extensive database, integrating the map collection to empower mobile-first travelers worldwide.

“Traveling can be an overwhelming and stressful experience, but navigating the airport doesn’t have to be,” said Jon Croy, co-founder and CMO of Point Inside in a press release. “Whether you are trying to find your gate, somewhere to eat before you depart, or the rideshare pick-up area, Point Inside’s airport maps help you know where you’re going every time.”

Point Inside’s updated map collection allows passengers to leverage point to point wayfinding with estimated travel times for their desired destination within the airport. Additionally, they can easily locate and determine routes to shops, restaurants and in-airport stores they are looking for during their time at the airport. All maps contain the latest information including current airport layouts, shops, restaurants and services.

“TripCase users find airport maps highly valuable as part of their trip experience,” said Vance Weintraub, senior product manager at Sabre/TripCase. “Point Inside’s new airport maps make it even easier for travelers to search and find what they need while in the airport: the maps display shops and restaurants, plus departure gates, baggage claim carousels, ticketing desks, lounges, and other services. As a product manager, I’m most excited about Point Inside’s hosted maps. The initial integration only took a few hours and we’re done. Point Inside makes sure our map features are always state-of-the art without further integration work from our team.”
