Photo courtesy of the Newport Knights softball program                                The Newport Knights girls softball squad finished with a record of 3-2 at the Class 4A state tournament on May 25-26 in Spokane. The Knights finished the tournament tied for fifth place. Newport earned victories against the Rogers Rams, Puyallup Vikings and Tahoma Bears in the tourney. The Knights lost to the Camas Papermakers and the Central Valley Bears. The Knights finished the 2018 season with an overall record of 21-8.

The Interlake Saints girls golf team earned second place at the Class 3A state golf tournament on May 23 at Indian Canyon Golf Course in Spokane.                                The Saints, who compiled 90 team points, finished just 1.5 points behind first place Bellevue (91.5 team points). Interlake’s Samantha Na captured fifth place overall individually with a total of 153 strokes at the two-day tournament. Katie Kester registered a sixth place finish with 154 strokes.
