Free movies at Downtown Park return July 2

Free movies at Bellevue’s Downtown Park return July 2 with family-friendly activities and films plus a chance to help area non-profit organizations with needed items.

Activities begin at 8 p.m. before each movie with the films beginning around 9 p.m. or dusk. Movies are family-friendly and carry a PG rating. Movie content can be viewed at kidsinmind.com/.

Each movie night is themed with a different charity with people asked to bring suggested donated items.

The Downtown Park is located at 10201 NE Fourth St. Parking is available at Chase Bank (on Northeast First Street), Alvin Goldfarb Jewelers (on Bellevue Way) and on available streets.

In case of inclement weather, movies will be held at the South Bellevue Community Center, 14509 SE Newport Way.

Here’s the lineup, the non-profit and suggested donations:

  • 7-2: Hotel Transylvania, The Sophia Way, grocery gift cards and bus passes.
  • 7-9: Thunderstruck, Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue, backpacks and school supplies.
  • 7-16: Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days, Ashoka, books and office supplies.
  • 7-23: ParaNormal, Kindering, toys and crafts.
  • 7-30: Life of Pi, Youth Care, backpacks and USB flash drives.
  • 8-6: Parental Guidance, iCare We Care, clothing andbackpacks.
  • 8-123: Chasing Mavericks, TreeHouse, new clothing for kids ages 5-18 and long or short sleeved shirts.
  • 8-20: Won’t Back Down, Bellevue LifeSpring, tuna or other canned meats and pasts sauce.
