The tent at the skating rink at Bellevue’s Downtown Park collapsed Sunday night from the weight of snow on the roof.

About 10 people reportedly were skating at the rink when the accident occurred, at approximately 8 p.m. There were no serious injuries.

Fire department personnel said employees of the rink and others were able to lift the tent, freeing all but a young girl. Firefighters helped get the girl out and she was taken to Overlake Hospital Medical Center. Her injuries were said to be minor.

A fire department spokesman said the accident is a warning about the weight of snow on structures.
