Examiner’s Office: Woman found dead in Bellevue apartment was strangled

A dead woman found by maintenance workers in a Bellevue apartment unit under construction back in February was strangled, according to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Bellevue Police declined to release much information following the discovery of 29-year-old Annelise Harrison on Feb. 7, three days after she was allegedly killed inside an empty Ridgedale Apartment unit along 141st Court Southeast. Maintenance workers found Harrison, after responding to reported flooding in the building. Police reported at that time Harrison was found without identification.

A cause of death was not being released until the completion of a toxicology report. The Examiner’s Office told the Reporter Friday Harrison’s cause of death was asphyxia due to strangulation and ruled the matter a homicide.

Police are declining to provide details about the case, but told the Reporter a person of interest has been arrested on unrelated charges and remains in custody today. That person has not been charged in Harrison’s death.
