Bellevue students win corporate-sponsored National Merit Scholarship awards

National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) has announced that four Bellevue high school seniors have won corporate-sponsored National Merit Scholarship awards in the 71st annual National Merit Scholarship Program.

They are among approximately 700 distinguished high school seniors to garner these awards. Most of these awards are renewable for up to four years of college undergraduate study and provide annual stipends that range from $1,000 to $10,000 per year, according to a press release.

The local winners are:

Daniel Nguyen of Interlake High School will receive a Boeing scholarship and listed a probable career field of computer science.

Yisu Ni of Eastside Preparatory School in Kirkland will receive a Nvidia Corporation scholarship and listed a probable career field of biomedical engineering.

Brandon Ryu of Newport High School will receive a Walgreen Co. scholarship and listed a probable career field of economics.

Nishant Vikramaditya of Interlake High School will receive a Nvidia Corporation scholarship and listed a probable career field of computer engineering.
