Five receive National Merit Scholarships

Five Bellevue students have received National Merit Scholarships financed

by colleges and universities.

Philip Lai, from Bellevue High School, whose probable career field is computer science, received a scholarship from the University of Washington.

Joy Y. Maa, from Newport High School, whose probable career field is law,received a scholarship from the The University of Washington.

Ajay U. Mehta, from Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, NH, whose probable career field is economics, received a scholarship from New York University.

Amy S. Park, from Newport High School, whose probable career field is international relations, received a scholarship from New York University.

Karen I. Walker, from the International School, whose probable career field is medicine, received a scholarship from Pepperdine University.
