A Bellevue man escaped injury in a four-car accident Friday night on I-5.

A Bellevue man escaped injury in a four-car accident Friday night on I-5.

Igor O. Babaev, 59, was a passenger in a car driving north on I-5, just south of SR 516 when the car struck another car in the accident.

According to the Washington State Patrol, a car driven by Nicholas M. Anderson, 33, of Des Moines struck another vehicle in lane four of the freeway, causing it to strike another car. That car, in turn, struck a third car. Car number four, in which Babaev was riding, then also struck the third car.

Anderson fled the scene on foot and later was located at a residence and then booked into the King County Jail.

An Issaquah man, Pyotr M. Vishnevskiy, the driver of car number four, also escaped injury.

The accident occurred at 8:32 p.m.
