Seattle Opera’s production of Verdi’s Falstaff opens on Feb. 27 and runs for eight performances through March 13. Based on Shakespeare’s Merry Wives of Windsor, Verdi’s opera keeps the subplot of the young lovers, and adds Falstaff’s wittiest observations from Henry IV.
The Sunday, March 7 performance will be a Family Day Matinee with student tickets priced at $15. Cast members will visit the audience during intermission, people can try on costumes from Seattle Opera’s costume shop, and KING FM will offer the instrument “petting zoo,” a hands-on exploration of the world of musical instruments.
General audience single tickets start at $25 and are available online at seattleopera.org, by calling 206-389-7676 or by mobile phone at mobile.seattleopera.org.
