The Downtown Bellevue Art and Park Walk on Saturday, May 22, will highlight more than 20 pieces of public art and points of interest. Walkers can choose six- or 10-kilometer routes featuring a variety of art in several locations, including the Northwest Arts Center, Meydenbauer Beach Park, Bellevue Downtown Park, City Hall and the Bellevue Arts Museum.

Participants can register the morning of the event at the Northwest Arts Center, 9825 NE 24th St, between 8 a.m. and noon, and must complete the walk by 3 p.m. The event is free for the general public and $3 for American Volkssport Association members seeking credit.

The Art and Park Walk is the second in a four-part series of park walks scheduled for this year. The walks promote physical fitness while highlighting the best of Bellevue’s art, parks and natural and historic sites. The series is produced by Bellevue Parks & Community Services, American Volkssport Association, Interlocken Trailblazer Northwest Striders and Whole Foods Market Bellevue.

In addition to the Bellevue Downtown Art & Park Walk, there are two remaining walks in the series:

The Lake-to-Lake Greenway Trail 15K Walk will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18 with registration from 8-10 a.m. The walk will begin Mercer Slough Blueberry Farm, 2380 Bellevue Way.

From the farm, participants are shuttled to the start of the trail at Weowna Park. The shuttle runs approximately every half hour.

The final walk will be the Lewis Creek 5K Poetry Walk

Date from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 10. The walk will begin at the Lewis Creek Visitor Center, 5808 Lakemont Blvd.
