Bellevue used five takeaways, including interceptions from Budda Baker, Jack Meggs, Timmy Haehl and Devin Murphy to overwhelm Liberty 38-0 in the regular season finale.
Ari Morales scored a pair of touchdowns on the ground and John Nguyen, Tyler Hasty and Reuben Mwhela also got into the endzone for the Wolverines, who will be back home next week to face Glacier Peak in the opening round of the playoffs.
Sammamish ended the regular season with a 41-6 loss to Mount Si. Senior quarterback Austin Lee scored on a 56-yard touchdown run to cut an early Wildcats’ lead to seven, but it was all Mount Si from there.
Newport was defeated 50-20 by Bothell in the 4A KingCo crossover round on Saturday at Pop Keeney Stadium.
The Cougars’ Danny Wilson (pictured at left, photo credit: Gary Makowski) scored four touchdowns to power the Bothell offense while quarterback Austen Dahl tossed three scores in the win.
The loss ends the season for the Knights.
