Luera understands diverse needs of district

I am supporting Ed Luera for Bellevue School Board, Position No. 5. Excellent education for every student and eliminating the achievement gap are two of his top goals. Also, his own education and training make Ed uniquely qualified to address growth and overcrowding problems currently plaguing the Bellevue School District.

Ed has been volunteering his expertise to work with the district to analyze growth projections to ensure enough teachers are hired before school begins. Ed believes redistricting is not the answer because it breaks up communities which play an important role in a school’s success. Increased class sizes are also not a solution because this hampers learning and puts additional stress on already over-worked teachers.

Ed is a Latino candidate and understands the diverse needs in the district. He understands that education is the way up and out for students with limited economic resources. America is still a country of opportunity and a solid education makes it possible to ensure every child’s dreams are met.
