AtWork! will showcase works by artists with disabilities in a show in Bellevue from July 8 through September.

An artists reception will be held from 4:30-7 p.m. July 8 at the organization’s headquarters building, 1935 152nd Place NE.

There will be 27 works in the show by eight artists who participate in the Seattle Center Artists’ Studio program of Creative Activities/VSA arts of Washington. The artwork can be viewed during business hours 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The featured artist for the show is Earl Debman.

“My art is like a vehicle to express how I feel,” Debman said. “It is like peeking out a window and at the same time looking in and you attempt to freeze that image and share it: a moment in time.”

A long time Seattle resident, Debman has served as a leader and activist in the African-American community. He is an active artist in the Seattle Center Artists’ Studio.

Debman reaffirmed his love of painting after surviving a stroke four years ago. His paintings often convey a sense of culture, community and diversity.
