A Walk for the Animals will bring people and dogs together for a event benefiting the Seattle Humane Society.
The event will take place Sunday, Sept. 27 along the Burke-Gilman Trail, beginning at University Village.
Animal lovers from around the region are encouraged to gather pledges and form teams – prizes are awarded to those who raise the most funds.
The scenic 5K trail walk begins 9:30 a.m.
Registration for the Walk for the Animals is $30 per person and can be done online at seattlehumane.org, by e-mail to events@seattlehumane.org, or via phone at 425-373-5388.
Walkers are encouraged to stay afterwards for University Village’s FidoFEST, starting at 11 a.m. All proceeds benefit the animals cared for by the Seattle Humane Society – the largest private animal shelter in King County. It is based in Bellevue.
