Attorney General to chair breakfast for Eastside Domestic Violence Program

Washington State Attorney General Rob McKenna and his wife, Marilyn, will Chair Eastside Domestic Violence Program’s (EDVP) Annual Safe Passage Breakfast – Give Hope on October 2 at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue. Registration begins at 7 a.m. with the program from 7:30-8:30.
Keynote Speaker, Dr. Jill Murray, an expert on domestic violence and teen dating violence, will address the critical effect of domestic violence on children, teens, adults, family and society. Murray has appeared on 20/20 and the Oprah Winfrey Show.
EDVP’s 2009 Corporate Partner of the Year, Verizon Wireless HopeLine will accept the award for their leadership and ongoing support to end domestic violence. Verizon Wireless Hopeline continues a decade-long partnership with EDVP which has increased awareness in the community and provides ongoing support of EDVP’s services. They have provided thousands of cell phones through the Hopeline Program to assist victims of domestic violence.
Jean Enersen, will be recognized as EDVP’s Community Leader of the Year for her inspirational support and leadership and thousands of hours of service to promote the agency’s cause and support its mission protecting domestic violence victims and their children. She will emcee the program.
About 500 guests, corporate and civic leaders, legislative officials and socially active philanthropists are expected at the breakfast.
Since 1982, EDVP has grown to become one of Washington’s largest domestic violence service providers serving more than 100,000 victims of domestic violence and their children.
