An 81-year-old Bellevue woman was unharmed during Thursday’s high-wind storm, which knocked a large tree down on her home on the 300 block of 111th Avenue Southeast, taking her electrical service line with it.

Bellevue firefighters responded to the elderly woman’s home around 4 p.m. Thursday to tackle the wooden obstruction hanging from her house, but needed to wait for Puget Sound Energy to clear a service line to her home to ensure they could work safely. Using chain-saws, firefighters removed the tree in sections. Red Cross responded to provide assistance to the elderly woman, whom one neighbor said rarely leaves her home these days.

The downed tree was the second of several caused by Thursday’s wind storm.
