Sean Lally, 17, of Boy Scout Troop 438 from Bellevue will be honored at a special Eagle Scout ceremony on Sunday March 7. To earn Scouting’s highest award Sean had to earn 21 merit badges, serve as a leader in his troop, and complete a major community service project.
For his service project he chose to work with the city of Bellevue’s Stream Team, who assigned him the task of placing markers by storm drains in neighborhoods above the Kelsey Creek basin. The markers educate the public not to dump pollutants into the drain because it flows into Kelsey Creek. Sean organized a team of Boy Scouts that placed over 230 markers.
Sean has been a member of Troop 438, chartered to Christ the King Lutheran Church for seven years. He has served his troop as patrol leader, chaplain’s aide and assistant senior patrol leader.
He is a junior at Newport High School where he enjoys chemistry, history and technical theater. He also participates in swim team and water polo.
