There are many ways to burn off calories besides exercise and working out in the gym.

Sixty minutes of aerobics burns about 400 calories; the same time spent jogging burns 500. But, an hour spent painting burns 360 or more (and gives you a sparkling living space as a bonus).

Cleaning, repairs, and improvement are exercise, too. Wonder how many calories you’ll lose?

House-cleaning burns about 200 calories an hour; carpentry about 450, and moving furniture, 475. Outdoors, an hour with a push mower burns 400 and shoveling snow burns more than 700 an hour.

To lose weight you don’t have to go to the gym; just exercise with housework and home gym-provements.
