Bellevue meeting to discuss Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure event

A meeting in Bellevue this month will provide details to people wanting to be involved in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure event.

The “Get Started Meeting” will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, at Bellevue Regional Library, 1111 110th Avenue N.E. At the meeting, people new to the 3-Day and old pros can gather information and inspiration, ask questions, and meet other 3-Day for the Cure walkers.

Those who register at the meeting will receive a registration kit (including legacy pin and milestone tracker) on the spot. Those who are already registered are encouraged to come to the meeting to talk about training and fundraising.

The Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure is a 60-mile walk for women and men who want to make a personal difference in the fight to end breast cancer. Komen 3-Day for the Cure participants raise a minimum of $2,300 and walk an average of 20 miles a day for three consecutive days.

The 2010 Komen 3-Day for the Cure Series includes a stop in the Seattle Sept. 10-12.
