At the Somerset Fourth of July celebration, CENSE, the Coalition of Eastside Neighborhoods for Sensible Energy, took its protest of proposed Puget Sound Energy towers to a new height. In the photo at top, balloons launched by CENSE are as high as tall as proposed Puget Sound Energy power poles as seen from the Somerset neighborhood sign. In the photo at bottom, Somerset resident and CENSE co-founder Don Marsh photoshopped 130-foot-tall power poles into the picture of the Fourth of July celebration at Forest Hill Park. The existing 40-foot poles can be seen below. In both photos, the orange balloon at the bottom is the height of current POSE towers while the orange balloon at the top is the height of a 130-foot tower. PSE says it is still gathering information and hasn’t yet determined the exact look of any new towers.
