Bellevue advanced to the 3A state quarterfinals with a 3-2 victory over the Southridge Suns on Nov. 13 in Kennewick.

After falling behind 1-0 in the first half, the Wolverines equalized right before halftime with a goal from junior midfielder Kennedy Shorett. Bellevue scored two goals early in the second half courtesy of senior Courtney Serres and sophomore Kate Durrell to take a 3-1 lead. The Suns got within one after converting a penalty, but the Wolverines held on, even after going down to 10 players.

The victory sets up a quarterfinal game against the Kamiakin Braves on Nov. 16 at Bellevue High School. The winner will advance to the semifinals on Nov. 22 at Sparks Stadium in Puyallup.
