It’s ironic that work to improve traction in wet weather on the ramp from southbound Interstate 405 to westbound Interstate I-90 was postponed by rain last weekend.

But with sun and warm temperatures in the forecast this weekend, the work now will start Friday night, July 29.

Contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will close the ramp in Bellevue starting at 9 p.m. to install a high friction surface treatment. Work will be complete by 9 a.m. Saturday, July 30. Signed detours will be in place. The work is weather-dependent.

The crews completed similar work as scheduled on July 23-24 on the southbound I-5 ramp to southbound I-405 in Lynnwood.
