Wild in the Parks rolls into Bellevue Saturday | $500 cash purse for Volcom amateur skateboard competition

Volcom is making Bellevue Skate Plaza its third stop on its Wild in the Parks tour, a free amateur skateboard contest series, on Saturday.

Wild in the Parks has competitors skateboarding in three divisions in a vie for the global competition in Los Angeles, where the top prize is $15,000. The global competition takes place Oct. 17.

Registration for the 14 and under, 15-21 and open/amateur divisions is 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the park and free to anyone wanting to compete. The competition starts at 11:30 a.m., with a $500 cash purse.

Volcom pro skateboard Caswell Berry will also pick his favorite competitor for a photo opportunity inside the Volcom team van to be featured in The Skateboard Mag.

Bellevue Skate Plaza is located at 14224 Bel-Red Road.
