Bellevue senior Budda Baker earned another honor for his exploits on the gridiron, and put the doubts about his collegiate future to rest in the span of 24 hours.

The all-purpose threat earned All-Classification Player of the Year from the Associated Press, headlining an All-State team that also included several of his state title winning Wolverine teammates.

Friday, he announced via his Twitter account he would continue his career and education at the University of Oregon.

Senior offensive linemen Morgan Richey and Marcus Griffin landed on the first team offense after paving the way for another dominant corps of running backs and signal-caller Timmy Haehl.

Griffin also found his way onto the first team defense on the line, with junior linebacker Ross Conners and defensive backs Baker and Haehl also on the first team.

The All-Purpose/returner designation also went to Baker, who is also an Army All-American, on the first team unit for special teams.

Junior running back Sam Richmond was a second team selection for Bellevue on offense, with senior Shane Bowman on the second team defense.

Bellevue captured its sixth straight 3A football title to finish the season, beating Eastside Catholic 52-20.

Newport senior Conner Baumann was a first team selection on the All-State 4A offense. Baumann finished the year with three touchdowns in his team’s quarterfinal loss to Bellarmine Prep.
