Police seek help in locating suspect

Bellevue Police are seeking the public’s help in locating Yadira Dayana Chavez Cruz, 24, who they say slashed a loss prevention officer at a the Bellevue Fred Meyer store at 5:09 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19.
Police say Chavez Cruz, who is 5 feet, inches tall and weighs 125 pounds, was attempting to steal shoes.
When confronted, police say she pulled a knife and cut the loss prevention officer’s arm. She fled in a 4-door, black Toyota pickup. The driver of the vehicle was not seen.
Chavez Cruz was positively identified by the officer. One photo shows her with a handgun. She should be considered armed and dangerous, police say.
Chavez Cruz is associated with various addresses in Tacoma and the following vehicles: 2009 black Toyota Crew Cab Truck – possible plate WA B70659Y, 2006 black Ford Mustang – possible plate WA ALZ9325
She has possible warrants out of Pierce County and is a suspect in other Fred Meyer thefts.
Chavez Cruz is wanted for Robbery 1/Assault 1.
