Since the matchup was announced by the WIAA months ago, prep football fans around the state have been waiting for the defending 4A and 3A state champions from Skyline and Bellevue to meet on the gridiron.

On Saturday at renovated Husky Stadium they got their wish in the finale of the 2013 Emerald City Kickoff Classic, which returned from a stint in Eastern Washington, as the Wolverines rolled to a 45-7 win over the Spartans.

Senior running back Budda Baker got things going with a first quarter touchdown run and Bellevue pushed its lead to 35-0 before the break, keeping Skyline and transfer quarterback Kilton Anderson out of the end zone until late in the fourth quarter.
