Girls basketball
Interlake 51 Lindbergh 40
Interlake evened it season record at 1-1 with a 51-40 win over Lindbergh.
Cate Mueller and Cassidy McDermott led the Saints with 13 points each.
Emily Graver scored a game-high 20 for Lindbergh, but it wasn’t enough as the Eagles were outscored 18-6 in the final frame to relinquish the one-point lead they brought into the final period.
Bellevue 37 Skyline 34
Bellevue also erased a late deficit in a 37-34 win against Skyline to open the season.
The Wolverines managed only 10 combined points in the second and third quarters, but erupted for 14 in the final frame to pull out a 37-34 win.
Only seven players suited up for Bellevue, with Erin McGowan, Holly Warendorf and Carly Best each finishing with nine points and Katie Savard ending the night with eight.
Skyline’s Megan Wiedeman led all scorers with 17 points in the loss.
Newport 47 Mercer Island 44
Newport held off a late charge from Mercer Island to win the non-league game 47-44 behind the team-high 10 points from Chanel Dotson.
Marikah Wright checked in with nine and Felicia Andreini finished with eight for the Knights. Nine players scored for Newport in the win.
Sammamish 52 Forest Ridge 14
Sammamish jumped to an early lead and ran away from Forest Ridge, 52-14.
Montana Hagstrom and Natsumi Naito both had 13 for the Totems while Morgan Mincy added seven more.
Tairay Jordan led Forest Ridge with seven points.
Boys basketball
In the only local boys game of the night, Bellevue Christian outlasted Tenino 59-54 behind 19 points from Bryce Oldham and 16 more from Nick Schubert.
Jake Vandenbrink checked in with nine of his own to help the Vikings to the win.
