A pair of players from Bellevue College’s NWAACC tournament title team signed letters of intent to play for George Horton and the Oregon Ducks in 2012.

Pitcher Adrian Sampson and outfielder Tyler Baumgartner will join 11 other signees in Eugene beginning in the fall of 2012.

Sampson, who graduated from Skyline high school before starring for the Bulldogs this past season, was drafted in the 16th round of the 2011 First-Year Player Draft and pitched for the Bellingham Bells during the summer. During his team’s NWAACC championship run, Sampson went 6-2 on the mound with a 1.87 ERA in 62 and 2/3 innings, striking out 82 batters.

Baumgartner, a 2010 graduate of Central Kitsap high school, was named 2011 NWAACC tournament MVP after driving in six runs on seven hits (including one home run). He was named to the first-team of the NWAACC North division for the season.
