Politicians need to learn to be nice

I recently read that the mayoral race in Darrington was run respectfully, without criticizing the opponent. I would encourage them to start a course that every politician, from the president on down, should be required to take and pass before they are allowed to file for an office. Maybe the speeches and ads on TV, radio etc. would be worthy of listening to instead of being relegated to the mute button.
