Freshman Williams wins 100 meter breastroke for Wolverines | Prep swim and dive state results

Bellevue freshman Kim Williams, who attends Bellevue Christian school, captured the 3A state championship in the 100 yard breastroke and earned a pair of All America consideration times in the process.
Williams won the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:03.97 and finished in second place in the 200 individual medley behind defending state champion Grace Wold of Mercer Island. Williams’ time of 2:04.72.
Rachel Schneider ended the meet in third place in the 200 freestyle by besting her preliminary time by a full second. She also finished in third place in the 500 freestyle in 5 minutes, 5.56 seconds.
The 200 free relay team, which included Schneider, Williams, Natalie Fonatana and Jamie Leitzke finished in fourth place. Ngo replaced Leitzke in the 400 free relay to help Bellevue finish fourth.
Naomi Ngo swam in sixth place in the 100 butterfly for the Wolverines in a time of 1:00.38.
The Wolverines finished in fourth place in the team scoring behind champion Mercer Island, Bainbridge and Hanford.

Interlake picked up a fifth place finish in the 200 medley relay behind the performance of Anna Kimura, Anna Moody, Brigid Mackey and CC Hagen in 1:56.68.
Mackey also finished in second place in the 200 freestyle in 1:59.10 and in fifth in the 100 butterfly in 1:01.61. Kimura ended the 100 butterfly in 1:01.85 and finished fourth in the 100 backstroke in 1:03.54.
In the 200 free relay, it was Andrea Price, Marta Mueller, Cassidy McDermott and Pia Salgado ending the race in sixth place in a time of 1:46.87.
The Saints’ 400 free relay team of Kimura, Moody, Hagen and Mackey earned the highest finish of the meet in third place in a time of 3:46.78.

Lorea Gwo finished fourth in the 50 freestyle for Newport in 24.29 seconds and ended in sixth in the 100 butterfly in a time of 57.86.
The Knights earned their best finish of the meet in the 200 meter freestyle relay with the team of Monique Saysana, Maggie Pana, Cassie Burgess and Gwo swimming in third and only half a second behind second place finisher Issauqah.
Newport finished in seventh place in the team scoring with a total of 110 points.
