Newport was swept 3-0 (25-20, 25-14, 25-15) by fourth-ranked Olympia in its first match at the 4A volleyball state championships in Lacey, but rebounded to win three straight matches to finish the tournament in seventh place.

The Knights swept Tahoma 3-0 (25-16, 25-17, 25-21) in the second match on day one before coming back to outlast Central Valley 3-1 (25-21, 16-25, 25-13, 25-22) and and then Bellarmine Prep 3-1 (25-17, 23-25, 25-21, 25-16) in the seventh-place match.

Interlake was also swept in the first round of its state tournament, 3-0 (25-18, 25-13, 25-20) at the hands of Selah.

The Saints faced Centralia in the second match of the day and fell in another 3-0 (25-16, 25-22, 25-12) decision.

Burlington-Edison defeated Tumwater 3-1 for the tournament title.
