Wolves lead 4A, Bellevue and Lakes on collision course | Reporter newspapers prep football rankings

Eastlake claims the top of the 4A rankings and thumping Issaquah. The Wolves will meet Plateau rival Skyline this week in one of this year’s top games around the state. The winner is going to the 4A KingCo title game and the loser is going to have a tough time venturing to the other side of Sammamish without getting an earful.

In 3A, Bellevue and Lakes look like they are on a collision course unless someone can step up and knock one of the titans off the pedestal. I haven’t seen O’Dea in person this year, but I have been told at least at first glance, they are a step below those top two teams. And I’m just going to say it now and get it out there, no one from anywhere in Southwest Washington (I’m looking at you, Camas) will come within four touchdowns of the Lancers or Wolverines.

Things could get interesting in 2A as well with the chaos in the Cascade (Lakewood beats Murphy, then loses to 1A King’s) combined with the power in the north and, call me a homer, but Interlake lurking in the weeds after another win over a 3A KingCo foe last week. At least a few teams with sparkling records are going to get knocked off earlier than expected.
