Council tensions appreciated

A recent letter expressed the opinion that Bellevue councilman Grant Degginger deserves appreciation from the citizens of Bellevue for his public service, to which I agree. However, the writer later disparages other council members, to which I disagree.

We live in more and more difficult times in which all levels of government have imposed more and more controls upon us.

Nationally we have become a more leaderless global entity while locally we are becoming overwhelmed by regional politics that are threatening our local controls.

Part of the reasons for the tensions within our council is that some members are more adamant in protecting our communities from regional political decisions related to Sound Transit, which are not in the best interests of Bellevue citizens. … and I appreciate THAT!
