The Bellevue East girls lacrosse team, led by coach Craig Van der Horn, won the Division II State Championship on Saturday at Charlie Acosta Field on the campus of Eastside Catholic School 17-16 over the Overlake School.

Freshman Camille Sullivan was the hero in the first overtime period for her team, delivering a game-winner that gives the program its first state title in four years of existence.

BELAX finishes the season 13-2-0 and defeated Bainbridge and Klahowya in triple-overtime to reach the state title match.
