Atlanta Hawks guard Jamal Crawford will visit the Seattle Children’s Bellevue Clinic and Surgery Center tomorrow to benefit the center’s sports health programs.
Crawford, a Rainier Beach graduate and the reigning NBA Sixth Man of the Year, will host the Jamal Crawford Foundation’s “High Tops and Helping Hands” Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Bellevue location at 1500 116th Ave. NE.
Admission to the event is a tax-deductible contribution of $75 and includes a BBQ, entertainment, gifts and interactive games. Children 12 and under are free with an adult purchase.
The event will include appearances by Boston Celtics guard and Rainier Beach alum Nate Robinson, Portland Trailblazer guard and Garfield graduate Brandon Roy and Philadelphia 76ers big man Spencer Hawes, a Seattle Prep alum.
The benefit will help provide quality sports medicine training for trainers responsible for high school student-athletes.
“The Jamal Crawford Foundation is thrilled to be presenting this fun and entertaining event that will raise awareness and funds for the High School Certified Athletic Trainers program – protecting our student athletes,” Crawford said in a press release. “The work of athletic trainers is essential. As parents of student-athletes, we want to know that our children will receive the best medical care on and off the playing field. Athletic trainers are the first wave of treatment for student-athletes that face such unfortunate circumstances.”
The foundation is currently taking reservations for the event until 6 p.m. on Friday. Sponsorships and tickets for the fund-raising event can be arranged by calling Matthew Wade, Executive Director of the Jamal Crawford Foundation, at (206) 227-9387 or logging onto www.jamalcrawford.org. Tickets for the July 17th will be available at the door the afternoon of the event.
