World-renowned humanitarian and spiritual leader Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma) will give programs at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue from May 28-31.
Amma has been conducting spiritual programs in her home country of India since the mid-1970s. At the request of people in Europe and the United States, she began giving similar programs outside India in 1987.
Programs include spiritual talks, devotional singing and the opportunity to receive Amma’s darshan — a spiritual blessing in the form of a physical motherly embrace.
All proceeds from books, artwork, clothing, food, etc., available at the programs directly support Amma’s charitable humanitarian activities, including homes for the homeless, scholarships for poor children, orphanages, hospitals and disaster relief.
The Bellevue programs will be at 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. May 28 and at 7 p.m. May 31. A retreat will be held from May 29-31 with preregistration required at www.amma.org.
More information is available at ammaseattle@yahoo.com or call 206-322-8337.
The Hyatt Regency Bellevue is located at Bellevue Way and Northeast Eighth Street.
