The 2010 Drive for Dreams Golf Classic will take place May 24 at the Golf Club at Newcastle (15500 Six Penny Lane, Newcastle), benefitting the Overlake Service League’s “Focus on Youth and Emergency Assistance” program.
The tournament, which takes place at the club’s Coal Creek course, includes a four-person scramble with a shotgun start. The field is limited to 144 players.
Participants can compete for $50,000 hole-in-one prizes and individual or team prizes.
Local sports celebrities including Seattle Seahawk Sean Locklear, former Major League Baseball outfielder Jim Nettles, 1984 Olympic silver medalist figure skater Rosalynn Sumners, and former National Hockey League players Turner Stevenson, Jamie Huscroft and Doug Kirton will take part in the event.
Drive for Dreams is an all-day event, beginning with the golf tournament at 9 a.m., followed by dinner, cocktails and a silent auction at 5 p.m., and then a live auction and awards ceremony at 6 p.m.
A helicopter will drop golf balls onto the course as part of a raffle at 5:30 p.m.
Additional details about the event are available at the Overlake Service League website.
