Bellevue residents to get help with home improvements

Published 4:08 pm Friday, April 23, 2010

An army of volunteers will help residents in need improve the appearance and safety of their homes on “A Day of Sharing and Caring” on Saturday, Aug. 14. Jubilee Services, the nonprofit behind the event, is accepting requests now for help with home and yard improvement projects.

Now in its third year, Sharing and Caring will feature more than 400 volunteers making improvements to up to 40 homes. Projects include painting, fence repair, deck replacement, light carpentry work and yard and carport cleanup.

People who may be facing economic or other life challenges are encouraged to apply. A committee representing Jubilee Services will select projects. The city is a partner in the event, primarily to help spread the word.

To request a home improvement application, call Gary King at 425-454-3084 ext. 3206. Applications will be accepted until 5 p.m., Friday, May 21.
