Debbie Antonio, 29, of Bellevue, is in training to run the Boston Marathon in an effort to raise money for those suffering from life-threatening liver diseases. The event takes place Monday, April 19.

As a member of the American Liver Foundation’s Run for Research team, Antonio is helping over 30 million Americans who suffer from liver disease. Fifty percent of US children and adolescents who are overweight or obese have non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and approximately 21,000 Americans are diagnosed with primary liver cancer each year. Over 15,000 children are hospitalized every year with pediatric liver diseases or disorders.
