Workshop offered in Bellevue on small-scale wind, solar systems

Northwest SEED will offer a Bellevue workshop on residential renewable energy for Puget Sound Area residents. The workshop is designed for people who have an interest in small-scale wind and solar systems for their home or business.

The Bellevue workshop will be from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the South Bellevue Community Center, 14509 SE Newport Way, Bellevue.

Workshop participants will gain a basic understanding of energy generation, components of a renewable energy system, solar and wind technology, financial incentives, utility interconnection and more.

Topics include:

• How do you go about evaluating your renewable energy resource?

• What is the best-fit technology for your renewable energy resource?

• What does it take to invest in a renewable energy system and what incentives are available?

• How can you work with your utility to set up your renewable energy system?

• What high priority conservation opportunities are available to you?

The workshop will also address common myths and concerns surrounding the installation of solar and wind projects in urban environments.

The workshop is open to the public with a registration fee of $25. Pre-registration is required at www.nwseed.org.
