Local Scouts earn rank of Eagle

The Cascade District of Boy Scouts of America ended 2009 with a record 73 Scouts achieving the rank of Eagle, which is earned by advancing through the ranks, earning 21 merit badges and completing an Eagle Scout project.

The Cascade District includes troops from Bellevue, Mercer Island, Medina, Yarrow Point and unincorporated King County.

The new Eagle Scouts reported their achievements to the Bellevue City Council on Dec. 7, the Yarrow Point Town Council on Dec. 8, and the Medina City Council on Dec. 15.

The 2009 Cascade Eagle Scouts are: Alex Jones, Alex Kruse, Alex Smith, Andrew Miller, Andrew White, Anthony Kubeja, Bentley Altizer, Billy Palmer, Brandon Norris, Brandon Richards, Brett Bankson, Brian Reiser, Brian Scherf, Byran Wu, Cameron Akena, Carl Garrett, Carl Sangalang, Charles Lyford, Chris Schlaepfer, Chris Wales, Christopher Bell, Cole Johnson, Conner Adams, David Byrne, David Dawson , David Giordano, David Heyduck, David Ytreeide, Dominic Arpin, Dominic Norris, Ellis Hughes, Enrique Alvarado, Eric Bergen, Erik Rintala, Ethan Moffat, Evan Davis, Evan Griffith, George Montgomery, Hayden Carlson, Jacob Leapai, James Farmer, Jared Barker, Jason Felker, Jencen Robey, John Barth, John Koch, John Paul Bruckner, Jonathan Pyke, Jonathon Dance, Joon Lee, Joshua Johnson, Joshua Thorson, Jospeh Weyer, Kristofer Koegel, Kyle Weiss, Matt Anderson, Matthew Townsend, Max Van Ginneken, Michael Chong, Michael Liedtke, Michael McCormack, Neil Baunsgaard, Nick Skouras, Paul Agnelli, Paul Malmsten, Phillip Matthews, Robin Thorson, Sam Taylor, Saul Tilden, Sean Lally, Sean Marihugh, Shaun Ramage, and Spencer Matlock.

The scouts donated approximately 10,500 hours to 50 community organizations.
