UW President Mark Emmert to Keynote Bellevue Chamber Business Lunch December 17

University of Washington President Mark Emmert will speak to the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce business lunch Dec. 17. He will share how the UW educates a diverse student body to become responsible global citizens and future leaders through a challenging learning environment.

The lunch will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue, 900 Bellevue Way NE.

Prior to assuming the presidency at the University of Washington, Emmert was chancellor at Louisiana State University. He also has held a variety of positions at the University of Connecticut, the University of Colorado and Montana State University. A native of Fife, Emmert attended Green River Community College before he transferred to the University of Washington, where he graduated in 1975 with a degree in political science. He received both his master’s degree and his doctorate from Syracuse University.
