The Seattle Community College (SCC) Men’s Basketball team raised $2,300 for the Bellevue-based Seattle Humane Society as part of a free-throw shooting event Oct. 14.

The 5th Annual Free Throws for a Cause event took place at the North Seattle campus gymnasium. The Storm, a self-supported athletic program, shot 100 free throws each to earn the funds.

The team also visited the Bellevue shelter on Oct. 16 in order to learn more about the shelter and its mission, as well as visit the animals their money was going to help.

the Humane Society is a private, non-profit organization and is not funded by the county, state or federal government and relies solely on the community to save more 5,000 animals’ lives every year.
