Thirty Eastside community leaders have made a three-year commitment to serve their community by enrolling in Leadership Eastside’s Class of 2012.
Chad Cowan, Vice President DA Davidson and a member of the 2012 class sums up the expectations and dreams of many class members, stating “The reason I am so excited about being a member of the Class of 2012 is the opportunity to create a broad network of colleagues across the greater Eastside that would help provide a boost to my ‘can do’ attitude.”
The Leadership Eastside community leader development program nurtures high impact individuals in taking the next step to grow their communities to a healthier future.
Class members live and work in Eastside communities and come from private, public and non-profit sectors. Class members dedicate a full day each month from September through May by focusing on six community leader capabilities including sustaining stewardship, thinking holistically, valuing dialogue, envisioning possibilities, influencing outcomes, and building community – with emphasis on becoming a catalyst for change.
Based on what they learn from the community and LE course materials, class members will identify similar interests, form teams, and develop community projects that address regional issue facing Eastside communities.
Class members from Bellevue include Julie Eisenhauer, Clark Nuber; Jim Grossnickle, University of Washington; Glenn Kost, city of Bellevue; Ryan McBride, Lane Powell; and Wendy Pender, King County Library Services;
