KidsQuest Children’s Museum will be collecting back to school supplies for families in need. According to Hopelink, with the new school year just a few weeks away, thousands of local low-income families and their children have begun to worry about how they’re going to afford school supplies – or even if they’ll be able to get them at all.
Hopelink’s “Kids Need School Supplies” drive provides 1,700 school children in north and east King County with new backpacks stuffed with the supplies they’ll need to start off the school year on the right foot.
“KidsQuest has a strong commitment to the children in our community and ensuring they achieve success in school and later in life, that’s why we are participating in this very important drive to support Hopelink families,” said Putter Bert, Executive Director
KidsQuest will be handing out a free pass to the museum to everyone who brings in a bag of new school supplies. Community members are encouraged to bring the following needed items to KidsQuest Children’s Museum between August 7-20:
* Three-ring binders (two-inch size)
* Tab dividers for binders
* Wide-tip and narrow-tip markers
* Erasers
* Backpacks for older kids
* Scissors for older and younger kids (Fiskars is a reliable brand)
* Pencil boxes
* Rulers
* Pencil pouches
KidsQuest Children’s Museum is located at Factoria Mall.
