Pedestrians don’t get their fair shake

I read Craig Groshart’s July 22 column on flakey drivers. I downsized from Mercer Island and moved to Windsor House right behind Bellevue Square. Needless to say I walk to almost every spot within a quarter mile. The library is my limit.
The city spends a lot of taxpayer money to whiteline the streets in order to make the driver’s life easy. There are people who speed up to a red lights and if I have the pedestrian right of way, I always try to look them in the eye before I cross in front of the vehicle.
Some people stop halfway in the pedestrian crossing lane. I will normally walk up to them and indicate how far over the line they are and make a comment I’d like my share of the road. Some will back up and others give me that stupid I don’t care look.
I was wondering if I reported this incident with license plate number to the Bellevue Police Department, what they would do about it.
I keep trying. I’m an 83-year-old senior just trying not to be a statistic.
